Privacy Policy

Wakey is an alarm app that requires you to take a photo of a real-world object to dismiss your alarm. This privacy policy explains exactly how the app handles the camera and any other data.

The short version: Wakey does not collect, upload, or share your personal data. Your mission photos are compared to your target entirely on-device using Apple's Vision framework. Nothing leaves your phone.

Wakey uses your iPhone camera for one purpose: completing the photo mission when your alarm fires. Here is exactly what happens:

• You take a photo to set your mission target when creating an alarm
• When the alarm fires, you take a photo to verify you are at the correct location
• Both photos are compared on your device using Apple's Vision framework
• Photos are never uploaded to any server or cloud service
• Photos are never saved to your Camera Roll unless you explicitly save them
• Photos are never shared with third parties of any kind

Your camera will never be accessed in the background. It is only used when you are actively inside the app completing a mission.

Wakey does not collect any of the following:

• Your name, email address, or any contact information
• Your location or GPS data
• Your alarm times or sleep schedule
• Your photos or mission targets
• Device identifiers or advertising IDs
• Usage analytics, session data, or behavioral tracking
• Crash reports or diagnostic data sent to us

Wakey saves the following data only on your iPhone, using Apple's standard local storage:

• Your alarm times and repeat schedules, stored in UserDefaults and on-device alarm data
• Your mission target photo, saved locally in the app's private storage container
• App preferences such as vibration, mission timeout, and Pro status via AppStorage

This data exists entirely within Wakey's sandboxed container on your device. It is removed automatically when you delete the app.

Wakey Pro is available as a one-time in-app purchase. All payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through their StoreKit framework. Wakey never sees, processes, or stores your payment information, credit card details, or Apple ID.

The only information Wakey receives from StoreKit is a confirmation that the purchase was completed, which is used to unlock Pro features. This confirmation is verified on-device and is not sent to any external server.

Wakey is distributed through the Apple App Store. As part of running the iOS platform, Apple independently collects certain data, including:

• Crash logs — if you have opted in to sharing diagnostics, Apple may provide anonymized crash data via App Store Connect
• Aggregate analytics — Apple may collect anonymized install and usage statistics

This data is collected by Apple, not by Wakey, and is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy. Wakey does not receive personally identifiable information through these channels.

You can control diagnostic sharing in Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements on your iPhone.

Wakey uses no third-party SDKs, analytics tools, or advertising frameworks. The app is built entirely with Apple's own frameworks: SwiftUI, AVFoundation (camera), Vision (photo comparison), and StoreKit (in-app purchases).

There are no embedded trackers, no advertising identifiers, and no data brokers involved in the operation of Wakey.

Wakey does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13. Because the app collects no data at all and requires no account, it is inherently compliant with COPPA and similar children's privacy regulations worldwide.

If this privacy policy is ever updated, the revised version will be posted at this URL with an updated effective date. Because Wakey collects no personal data, material changes are not anticipated. Any changes that do affect data handling will be clearly noted.
